The UK has the highest rates of teenage pregnancy in
Western Europe; all the UK
countries have broadly similar rates. In Scotland around 43 per 1000 girls
between 13 and 19 became pregnant in 2001. This rate has been relatively stable
since 1993 although the pattern has changed with increases observed in the
poorest areas.

Changes believe the way
forward is to educate young women by looking at how they communicate and view
themselves.
By focusing here we encourage
self examination, route out restricting personal beliefs and limiting thinking
processes which chips away at confidence, self worth and can lead young women
into having under-age and unprotected sex as a way of seeking validation and
acceptance.
When we work on the removal
of the limiting behaviour and create a more empowering mind-set, this in turn
enables our young women to build self esteem, self belief, combat teenage
pregnancy / STI’s, but more importantly, take advantage of the opportunities
available to them and not become a statistic.
Workshops and
one-to-one sessions provide young women with a range of tools and techniques to
not only help them discover new confidence, but to feel more self-aware and allow
self belief to flourish.
We encourage young
women to view their future with fresh eyes, set goals – and achieve them.
